Unwritten rules of etiquette have formed among Taco Trucks competing for spaces in the city; a driver will not go to a location on another drivers route unless someone at that site first calls them. These rules force a new driver to span out farther beyond the established routes to find business. A taco truck just starting out in business will need to work the periphery of established sites in hope of finding underserved areas, or they may chose to work off hours when most of the trucks have finished their routes.
