The Milliken Lake Mine was originally operated during the uranium boom of the 1950’s. The mine was closed in 1964 and then later re-opened by Rio Algom. The Milliken No. 1shaft was sunk to a depth of 3,071 feet and the No. 2 Shaft reached a depth of 3,400 feet
