Disappearing Tasmania: An Image of the West
Can a landscape tell us of the people who inhabit
it? The West Coast of Tasmania is a landscape populated through the energy
of industrious people. The communities are remote. A vast wilderness is
set between each town, defining the perimeters of habitation.
These images are the beginning of an ongoing study documenting Australian rural towns that have suffered severe decline over a ten year period. This study aims to investigate the declining populations of these unique communities. for more information see: http://disappearingtasmania.bizhat.com
