The old US 60 alignment, just east of Superior. Although it's a dirt track here, in most places the old alignment is still pavement. The "new" (1952) alignment of US 60 is above us. The striking rock formation at upper right is Apache Leap Mountain - according to legend, a group of Apaches leaped off the cliff rather than be captured by U.S. Cavalry forces.
