tokyo observatories
Tokyo is known for its miles of underground subways, shopping arcades and
pedestrian tunnels, but Tokyo is equally rich in its rooftop spaces. Nearly
every high rise in the Tokyo includes a rooftop lobby, restaurant, or bar
that the public can access. The rooftop views allow a completly different
sense of the city, re-orienting you to the sky, sun, and polar coordinates
that are mostly lost on the densly packed streets. These photographs document
the view from five different observatories, including the Mori tower art
museum, the shinjuku municipal building, the tokyo tower tourist attraction,
the ebisu garden tower, and the civic center tower..
