Once the "crown jewel" of Los Angeles hotels the Alexandria hotel was built in 1907 on the southwest corner of 5th and Spring Street by Parkinson & Bergstrom, Architects. The presidents Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and Woodrow Wilson all stayed here. It is a designated as a Los Angeles cultural landmark.
