Tel Aviv - Machine and Window

In Tel Aviv as in many other cities around the world, building facades are populated in one form or another with air-conditioning units. These units function to cool the interior spaces, but also result in a separatinon of the the interiors from the natural climate.

For me, as a visual artist, these aircondition units could become metaphors of human isolation in the modern world we live in. While walking for hours I saw how Tel Aviv's cubical architecture was loaded with air-con units next to the building's windows. The person confined in the space just behind does not appear in the images. However, we could imagine that someone is enclosed right next to these rectangular geometries.
