On July 30, 2004 I began a bicycle trip from Seattle to New York City. I arrived at my destination on September 18. My intention was to photograph my experience of the landscape in a way that was as honest and as accurate as possible. N. American Roads is the result of that trip.

The first group covers Seattle through the Rocky Mountains and across the Canadian prairies. The second group comprises the great plains and great lakes of ND, MN, WI and Michigan. The final group consists of images from Ontario and New York.
