Named
after a misspelled local mineral resource, Quartzsite
has an official population of 3,397 inhabitants (2000
census) . Every winter between October and March,
however, hundreds of thousands of campers bring their
RVs to Quartzsite. Setting up camp for anywhere for
a few days to a few months, these snowbirds temporarily
create one of the ten largest cities in the American
Southwest. |
